The Denon DN-V500BD Professional Blu-ray Disc Player offers a raft of professional video and audio features at a friendly consumer price. Providing full 1080p/24 video and HDMI output, along with Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD support, the DN-V500BD brings enhanced quality to Blu-ray picture and sound. At the same time, its 10-bit interlace-to-progressive video processing can upscale standard DVDs to look their absolute best.

But there's more to professional equipment than high quality features; there's also versatility and control. And the DN-V500BD delivers both. Along with its ability to play just about any disc you can feed it--from BD-R/RE to DVD-R/+R/RW and CDs--the player also contains an SD/SDHC memory card slot for playing back MP3s, WMAs, JPEGs and even the AVCHD high-definition video files recorded by many of today's camcorders. SD cards can also be used to store Blu-ray bonus content that's been downloaded via the player's ethernet port using BD-Live Profile 2.0.

Audio capability is another of the player's sweet spots, with gold-plated 7.1 surround sound and 2.0 stereo outputs included, each faithfully reproducing sound by way of high-quality 24-bit/192kHz audio converters. Internal decoding and sound management make the DN-V500BD ideal not only for home theater systems, but commercial environments as well.
